New Outfit for Sydney

I got Sydney a cute onesie the other day. It says "Party at my Crib...1am-6am"
It looks soooooo cute on her. Mark is wearing his new shirt, too. He looks like he should be in Hufflepuff. hahaha!

Sydney Eats Cereal

Tonight was Sydney's first solid meal!

I made her a bowl of Rice cereal. She loved it. She kept grabbing my hand and pushing the spoon into her mouth. It was funny.

So, hopefully this will help her sleep better at night. She's been a little stinker lately.

Snowbird

We had so much fun up at Snowbird! We go every July. My grandparents have a time share condo that we use. So, it was me, Mark, and the girls, Mom and Dad, Jonathan, Aubrey, Matthew and Debbie. We got there and had dinner that Mom had made...thanks Mom!

Then some went swimming and some stayed and watched The Shaggy Dog. The REAL one.

The classic Disney, black and white, Fred MacMurray one. If you havn't seen it, rent it or something. It's so funny. So, then after reading a few chapters of Harry Potter, and making sure the girls were asleep, we went to bed. The next day, we had breakfast, which again, Mom made for us. Thanks again, Mom! It was so good! Then Mark and I took Elizabeth on a hike all around the lodge. It's so beautiful at Snowbird. It's good to go because we get out of the heat for a little while. This time it was raining though. It smelled so good. Mark and I think it's like Jackson. It has the same outdoor, canyon, rustic feeling when you're there. Elizabeth loved her little hike. She saw a ton of squirrels and whistle pigs...(they look like groundhogs.) There's a pond right by the front of the lodge where kids can go fishing. Usually there's a little duck family swimming around whenever we walk past it. Sure enough we saw them. Mommy and her 2 babies. Awww.

Then Mark took Elizabeth swimming. They went together last year so I think it's their daddy-daughter tradition now. It was so fun to have Sydney up there with us this time! She was such a good girl. Her first Snowbird trip. We had a ball!

Our Kitty

We have had a kitty since December 2006. We got him on December 9 at the Humaine Society.

He was with a litter of about 4 other kittens. When we went in, Mark went right over to his kennel and picked him out. He was the only male out of all the kittens. We brought him home that day and he's been with us ever since. He's almost a year old! He was born the first week in September.

His name is Squirt. After the little turtle on Finding Nemo.

He's been such a great pet for our family. When we first got him, I was pregnant with Sydney and not feeling the greatest. He immediatly bonded with Elizabeth. She thought it was the coolest thing in the world that we had a kitten.

They have quite the relationship! He lets her do anything with him. She picks him up, carries him all over, plays with him, reads to him, and she loves to get all quiet and just lie down with him. They're so cute together.

Squirt wasn't so sure about Sydney when we first brought her home from the hospital. He's been so gentle with her and been such a good boy. Sydney loves to look at him and feel his fur.

We love our kitty...even though it seems like he's always overshadowed.

I need to put him in the spotlight sometimes!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It's bittersweet for me that this is the last Harry Potter book.
It's being released tonight at midnight.
I think if Mark and I didn't have kids and we were still carefree, then we'd be out at one of the Harry Potter parties and staying up until midnight when we could get our books.
That's what we did for Book 5...The Order of the Phoenix. We went to the Borders bookstore and hung out til midnight when we got our books. It's a fun memory.
I want to meet J.K. Rowling and give her a big hug and thank her for these books and this story.
She's so amazing. Her imagination.

Sydney's First Laugh

July 18, 2007
Welcome to my blog!
I figured I should have one as well...I'm copy-catting Emily's a little bit...hope she doesn't mind:)
I have a lot of family in Arizona, so this is a good way for them to keep in touch with us and know what's going on with us. (I got that from Emily, too. She's so smart!)
Anyway, I'll start with Sydney...she had her first real, true laugh today.
It was awesome.
We were playing and she was "talking" and doing her little giggles that she does all the time now, but then, all of a sudden, she belted out this big belly laugh. It only lasted a second, but it was SO cute!
I have to record all the little milestones.
