Art Class in the Front Yard

Today is the last day of summer vacation.
School starts, I go back to work, and the girls go back to pre-school.
So, we went outside in our front yard and patio to have some sidewalk chalk fun!
Elizabeth is SO into The Little Mermaid and Flounder. She loves to draw him. She is such a great artist. Everything is from her own imagination and she's getting better and better at it.
These little people she draws are so cute. They always have funny hair and big eyes and little stick arms and legs. They always have a smile, too. Which is important.
I know this is pretty much something only a mother and father could love...but I have to save them and share them. I think she's got talent. Wonder where she gets it?
Then of course there's Sydney, just hangin' out and watching us. Soaking it all in.
We had a good time.

Playtime is very important when you have 2 little girls!
Here's some fun pictures of Elizabeth and Sydney having a hard day's play.

Jackson Trip

We went up to Jackson over the weekend and stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge...where Mark and I met 11 years ago. It was fun. We stayed in the cottages. It was so cold. It rained almost the whole time!
Sydney was such a good girl. She was always smiling and laughing and she loved being outside. Elizabeth was Miss Independent of course...she's been before, so she knew what to do.
The Tetons were beautiful as usual...every time we see them, it always feels like no time has passed and it's still 1996, when we first were there. Then we look at Elizabeth and Sydney and we can't believe it!
How great it is to share this with them now.

Meadow

This is my one and only neice, Meadow!
She was born in May 2004, so she's only 6 months younger than Elizabeth.
She is Mike and Candace's daughter. Mike is Mark's brother.
They live in Phoenix so we don't ever get to see them. It's hard.
Meadow is Elizabeth and Sydney's only cousin and Elizabeth and Sydney are Meadow's only cousins. Candace told me that she likes to look at all the pictures that we post here so that she can see how her cousins are doing.
Meadow just started up in a dance class. Doesn't she look adorable? Her hair is so long...I love it.
Well, I hope she enjoys seeing herself here...and letting me put her in the spotlight.
Love you Meadow!

Elizabeth's Summertime Ritual

We live right next to Washington Elementary School, and every week day they provide a lunch during the summer.

So, my mom started taking Elizabeth and Sydney while I go to the gym or whatever and it's become a fun little routine. Elizabeth gets to go to the school and eat with tons of other kids and then after she's done, they go to the playground and swing and play for about an hour or so.

She's made lots of friends and my mom even met a lady who sells Cookie Lee and Mary Kay!

So, it's been really fun for Elizabeth especially. Sydney just sleeps the whole time or if she's awake, she'll watch Elizabeth like she's the greatest thing she's ever seen! Sydney is fascinated by Elizabeth. The way she looks at her...it's incredible.

I also want to mention that President Bush is at the school everyday and Elizabeth always goes up to him and says hi. You can make up your own political joke to go along with it.

Making memories!
