A Few Firsts

Sydney had a big week! Last Thursday April 24th, she basically said her first real word. I was picking up the girls from pre-school and while I had Sydney in my arms, trying to clock them out on the teacher's computer, Sydney leans over pointing to the desk where there is a little baby doll and said "Ba..by" It was awesome!
I clapped and cheered for her. She is truly in love with these dolls. Her teachers get them out for her right when we arrive in the morning. If you ever want to get Sydney a present, get her a baby!
OK, the next picture was from the other night. I was sitting on the floor folding laundry and Sydney comes walking over to me with a book in her hands. She turns around and starts backing up and then plops into my lap so I will read her the book.
It was so cute. It's exactly what Elizabeth did at this age. Just over a year old.
Anyway, it was so cool and just shows how much these little ones learn in their first few years. Babies and toddlers are so smart!

Tulip Festival

We went to to Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point! I've never been before. All I can say is Wow!
It's pretty amazing. The girls had a great time. My dad and grandpa came with us.
Grandpa actually paid for everything! Thanks so much! We went to Cabela's for lunch first and then to see the tulips. The whole thing was so beautiful! Especially the waterfalls. We will definetly go again this summer.

Go Jazz!

I'm a huge NBA fan! I love basketball and of course my Utah Jazz!
It's Playoff time and we are playing the Houston Rockets in the 1st round. Best of 7. We are up 2-1. Hopefully we can make it to Round 2!
I have a Mehmet Okur jersey, but Deron Williams is my favorite!
Go Jazz!

Week In Review

So, this post will be longer than most of my others because I havn't blogged in a while.
Last Saturday I took Elizabeth to the huge Scrapbook USA show at the South Towne Expo Center. We met her teacher there and just hung out together and walked around and bought some scrapbooking supplies. There's always tons of vendors selling their supplies. This is held every April and October. I always try and go. Now I've gotten Elizabeth into arts and crafts and scrapbooking so it was great to take her and we are already talking about when we'll go in October! Elizabeth said "Mom, can I wear my Halloween costume?" I was like, "We'll see."
Then we have turned Sydney's carseat around to face forward. This is a huge deal!
Wow, she's graduated to forward facing! She just loves it. She's discovered the new world of the road and things to watch and look at while I'm driving the van. When I look back in the rearview mirror she's always got her mouth wide open like..."Oh my gosh! Look at that!" She loves looking at everything and it's probably so much more fun for her to ride.
Work has been extra busy. The kids are so cute and we love them. I have an evaluation coming up and so I'm a little nervous about that. We have 2 fieldtrips planned. We're going bowling at Orchard Lanes and then eating lunch at McDonalds. Now you don't know how happy that makes some of our kids. McDonalds is like going to the Olive Garden!
Here at home is crazy busy as well. Sydney is walking and getting into EVERYTHING. In fact that's why I havn't been able to blog as much. I can't find 5 minutes to myself!
Something I HAVE been able to do is go to the gym on a regular basis! Mark has been so great to have me go about 4 days a week and then Saturday while he watches the girls. I'm loving it!
Well, yeah, that about wraps it up. All is well with The Butler Family!

3 Peas in a Pod

Here's Emma, Ty, and Alex. 3 of the kids in my class I teach. They were having so much fun today in the 80 degree sun. Wow!

Baby Animal Days

Saturday was very fun for us. We all headed up north to Wellsville for the Baby Animal Days. It was basically like a fair. There were tons of baby cows, sheep, horses, goats, llamas, bunnies, and there was even baby toads and turtles. All to pet and hold. The girls had a blast. Elizabeth even got to ride a pony!
There was music and food vendors. We sat down on the grass and had a picnic lunch!
We finally have had some great weather and it was so nice to be able to go outside and have fun!

First Time on a Swing

I can't believe I never posted this!
This was probably last month some time and Sydney was at the park with Grandma.
She put her in this bucket swing and Sydney LOVED it!
A little nervous at first, but then she was squealing and laughing the entire time.
It was quite the experience. Now she loves to go on the swings! Don't we all?

Mark was on TV!

There's an outdoors show that's on Channel 2 every Saturday night that's called Roughin' It Outdoors.....it used to be Doug Miller Outdoors before he passed away.
Anyway, they have a segment that's called Snapshot of the Week where people send in their photos of their camping trips, hunting trips, fishing trips or whatever.
So, you know that last post about Mark going on that cool fishing trip? Well, I sent in this picture and on Saturday night Mark was watching the show and there he was in all his glory!
It was very exciting.
